Are there any special requirements to care for or protect a treated Gemstone?
Treated gemstones, unless otherwise stated, do not generally require any special treatment. However, same care should be taken for both treated and untreated gemstones. Abrasives should be avoided at all time – this is especially the case for dyed gemstones and gemstones that have been treated by diffusion. Oiled gemstones should never be cleaned using ultrasonic cleaners or solvents.
