Are there any special concerns for gas dryers?
Accumulated dryer lint poses a fire hazard for both electric and gas dryers. However, gas dryers create an additional hazard of carbon monoxide. If you have a gas dryer, it’s doubly important that you keep your dryer duct clean to prevent carbon monoxide from backing up and accumulating in your home. We recommend that if you have a gas clothes dryer, you should inspect your duct to ensure that all duct joints are sealed with duct tape and you should have a carbon monoxide detector installed somewhere in your home for your protection.
