Are there any sniper related positions in the canadian army reserves?
I know that in the Canadian Army, sniper platoons are integrated at the battalion level. I would assume that reserve infantry battalions would also have sniper platoons. Canadian snipers, like those in all other western armies, undergo incredibly intense and difficult training. They currently hold the records for the two longest confirmed kills by snipers in history, surpassing even the legendary Carlos Hathcock of the USMC. Just being selected for sniper training requires exemplary marksmanship skills and good fieldcraft. You might also be surprised at the level of patience and endurance required to cut it in sniper school. Snipers are generally expected to be masters of reconnaissance first and killers second. If you can make the grade, you’ll be in some pretty elite company.
