Are there any serious differences between name brand and generic drugs besides price?
There can be differences in the fillers used, but unless you’re allergic to something in the fillers, that’s not a problem. Generic drugs have the very same active ingredients and in the same strengths as do brand name drugs. The price difference has nothing to do with the cost of the components of the drug. It has everything to do with the original drug company recouping it’s costs, including R&D, hundreds of times over.
