The entire route of the race will be closed to traffic, except for emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, and official cars. It should be normally safe as long as the runners follow the official route. With the help of the Police and Transport Departments, different sections of roads will be closed for a specified period of time to allow runners to pass through. Besides, further measure to ensure safety is the setting of the time limits for each distance of the Marathon. For example, 10km runners have to complete the first half of the race within 60 minutes; marathon runners have to complete the full race within 5 hours 30 minutes.
