Spirits used to fortify Australian wine or Australian grape must, fall into a class of spirits called concessional spirits that have zero excise payable when used for approved commercial purposes. To use these spirits, you must hold a concessional spirits permit. This applies whether you produce the spirits yourself or obtain them from a licensed supplier.
