Are there any religions besides witchcraft where women have all or most of the power?
I’m not even sure witchcraft is a religion. Wicca is a religion, I always thought of Witchcraft as the practical and Wicca the belief. Anyway, I don’t think there are any mainstream religions (I don’t know about the really obscure ones) that give women any power at all. If you through history, most men in most countries saw women as evil temptresses put on earth to tempt man into sin. I don’t know about all the power but there are a few religions that worship female godesses, or promote equality. Buddhism, The old Greek and roman religions, and Egyptiaan religions are all good, so are some of the Indian ones.
All the ancient religions, the ones that existed before the single male god, were female and goddess run. Women are the spiritual vessels. We weren’t trying to destroy all in war. Women have a capacity for working things out that men don’t. We rely heavily on our instincts. We used to have perfectly balanced minds before the monotheistic religions came along and took that from us. Lowered us lower than animals.That balance is returning and soon we will take our rightful place again. Peace.
In Wicca and other Witchcraft Religions, Women have equal power with men, not “all or most.” The equality of it sometimes comes as a shock to those of us who grew up in religions where men had all the power. (RC) If a Wiccan tradition gives “all or most” of the power to women, then it’s no longer Wiccan, because Wicca is nothing if not balanced. The Goddess does not crush the God, just as the God does not crush the Goddess.
Wicca is basically a religion that is about minding your own business and living peaceably with your neighbors and environment. Wiccans are eager to draw parallels between themselves and biblical Christianity for the sake of earning credibility, but what does the Bible have to say about this religion? You won’t find the word “wicca” in the Bible, so let’s evaluate the beliefs in light of what God says about them. Wicca spells are idolism– Romans 1:25 says, “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things, rather than the Creator…” Who wants to settle for second best? In Isaiah 40, God paints a very cool picture of how much greater the Creator is than His creation. If you are worshipping anything besides the Creator, you are just spinning your wheels. Wicca spells bring false hope – Hebrews 9:27 says, “…Man is destined to die once, after that, to face judgment.” God says we get one chance at life, and that is it. There are no do-overs.
