Are there any real work-at-home jobs, besides telemarketing?
I have applied for several “office” positions, only to be told they are work-at-home jobs and require (upfront) payment for programs, etc. Many work-at-home jobs seem misleading, as you say. I don’t know of any firms that offer actual work-from-home jobs, unless you are a current employee allowed to work from home as part of your employment agreement. Any time a potential employer asks you to pay for something upfront, it’s suspicious. I would be very hesitant to invest any of my own money in order to work for a company. If you see a work-from-home opportunity, be wary and get all the facts. Contact the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been filed against the company. I’ve been unemployed and want to start a home-based business doing room makeovers. While I have no interior design degree, I have successfully guided friends and neighbors on their design needs. Would interning at a local home furnishings business or interior design firm be realistic for an older person
