Raspberry plants are very hardy. Most any raspberry plants would do well in a container. You can get those large terracotta flower pots that are around 24″ in diameter and fairly deep or you could do some sort of large box. It really doesn’t mater as long as it ls large because berry bushes have large tree like roots. I live in zone 5 as well, and we grow Latham and Mammoth Reds. In this zone, most any variety would do well. If this is your first time with berries, I would suggest the Latham, they are generally easier to care for and do well in containers. They usually ready to harvest early July- August, weather depending. As long as they have lots of sun, watered regularly and fertilized with 10-10-10 you should have no trouble at all.
