Are there any acially pure people left or is everyone intermixed?
I think the only places you might find ethnically pure people would be places like deep in the outback of Australia. The only places that would not be intermixed would have to have been geographically isolated for a LONG time. Any time there is any mixing of population there is going to me ethnic mixing. I had a friend who was, according to his family, pureblooded Hispanic, from Mexico. He came out with the whitest skin, freckles, and red hair. Not one of his family had that coloring or had in the knowledge of that family’s history. The family swore “purity” and was immensely proud of this purity. After the usual trials and tribulations about this, they did a LOT of digging and found that one of his ancestors had been raped by a Conquistador. So, other than geographically isolated areas like deep in the Outback, if even there, we are all mutts regardless of how “pure” we think we are.
The phrase “racially pure” is not advisable. The San people of Africa are probably the oldest genetically distinguishable ethinic group and are probably most similar to the human anscestors at the base of our (modern human) common family tree, while South American Indians and Pacific Islanders are likely the youngest peoples. So depending on what you mean, there can be more than one answer. The San are most ancient, but the Pacific Islanders have had less time to “mix” with other peoples. There is no standard genetic code for being human. Unless some human produces offspring with a chimp, then anyone is as “pure” as anyone else. I think you are asking about either isolated ethnic or cultural groups.
