SERS permits active contributing members to purchase State service credit for service with a Commonwealth agency or other employer that is a member of SERS. In addition, credit for certain nonstate service, such as active military service and out-of-State educational service is purchasable under the Plan. Restrictions apply to these purchases. See SERS pamphlet, Provisions for Purchase of Service (SERS – 155).
