Are there any proposals to reduce drivers` distractions that arise out of the use of telematics in cars?
Because of the increasing amount of extraneous equipment in cars, some are proposing a system of “workload managers” that would regulate the flow of information to drivers based on the amount of attention they are able to devote to it. Details about this proposed system can be found in the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute’s April-June 2001 edition of Research Review.
