Are there any propane conversion kits specifically for VW?
I wouldn’t expect OBD2 cars to do too well with propane conversion. It would be a hell of a lot of work. Fuel pump, fuel lines, not sure about the injectors. Plus, the software (this is the OBD2 related part). Since it’s not just regular old 87-93 octane gas, you can’t just use it on stock software. I’d imagine your car will throw codes left and right, and either not run or run horribly. I don’t think VW’s are great cars to try this on, based on the lack of tunable software. You’d probably have to go full standalone (I don’t think any Mk5’s have done this yet), or at least a piggy back system. Edit: Based on some further research, pretty much all of the concerns above are covered by the kits, but I can’t see any companies making kits of VW’s. I did some searching and came up with nothing. Plus, it looks ridiculously expensive for a closed loop system. Also, it mentions using a carbeurator, not sure how fuel injected engines would react to this…
