Are there any problems installing KP3 on a machine with MS SQL 7.0 OLAP Services Server?
Yes, we have found that the PTS 2000 client installation will fail on a machine that has both the MSOLAP7 Server and the PTS 7.0 client components (these come with the MSOLAP7 Server) installed. This is because the PTS 2000 client components are not able to upgrade the PTS 7.0 client components if there is also a MSOLAP 7.0 server on that machine. Note: Knowledge Prospector requires (and installs) the PTS 2000 client components in order to run correctly. However, we can connect to either MSOLAP7 Server or Microsoft SQL 2000 Analysis Services (MSSQLAS2000) Server. MSSQLAS2000 is the current version of the OLAP Services Server.
