ARE THERE ANY PRE-PLACEMENT CONDITIONS REQUIRED BY SOME SETTINGS?
Criminal Background and Caregiver Background Check s are required for all students applying for field education courses. Students are required to complete both a Release of Information form and a Background Information Disclosure form, along with the required $25.00 fee. Students who have resided in states other than Wisconsin since the age of 18 will also be required to complete an out-of state background check and pay additional fees. The agency to which a student is assigned may also require an additional background check, depending on the needs of the agency. A student may be denied access to a placement site based on the nature of past offenses. Certain offenses may also prevent students from receiving a professional social work license and/or the ability to work in certain agency settings.
