Are there any plans to improve air passenger rights?

0

There are no plans at present to introduce extra rights for air passengers who find that the airline they have booked with has gone under. However, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has called for a compensation scheme to be set up to aid passengers when an airline goes under. The proposal is for the scheme to be funded by a flat rate levy on every ticket sold. But in the price sensitive airline industry, the CAA’s call has not been received enthusiastically by the low-cost carriers.
