Are there any plans to bring the statement before ALA Council in the future?
Perhaps. A new task force will be named by ALA President Alire in Spring 2010 with the objective to present a new resolution to Council no later than Midwinter 2011. The International Relations Committee and the OITP Advisory Committee will appoint co-chairs. Two members from OITP Advisory Committee, IRC, IFC, COL, ACRL, AILA, CALM, and the ethnic caucuses will be appointed to the new task force. We have recommended that members of the original TCE writing group be included in the task force, that the task force include additional Native librarians, and that the initial statement be used as a starting point for any document that the new task force may develop.
