Are there any pictures of Hyakutake after perihelion?
Perihelion occurred on May 1, 1996. The JPL image archive has over 1000 photographs of this comet.. but curiously none of them are from after perihelion passage. The above pictures were taken by the Hubble Space Telescope just before perihelion. The SOHO solar observatory took the following picture on May 2-3 just after perihelion passage: By the way, the Ulysses spacecraft detected the tail of Hyakutake 500 million miles away in April, 2000.
