Are there any other viable alternatives that could cut health care costs for small business?
There are lots of alternatives. We can have regional ideas that get implemented. That’s where we’re headed, as opposed to more narrowly focused ideas. We’re trying to find solutions across the spectrum so that every citizen in the U.S. can feel that he or she is being protected and has enough heat to stay warm, go to the doctor and take children to the doctor when they feel sick. Don’t look for any magic wand or panacea, but I’m looking for some positive direction. Any small-business tax breaks on the horizon? If we can have tax breaks for the wealthiest 1% of the country, surely we can have some tax credit for small businesses to develop in inner-city and rural communities where they need the startup help. There are lots of different ways to give tax incentives. Give a person a break if they hire individuals who’ve been unemployed for a certain length of time or give people incentives if they hire from certain racial or economic groups. Oliver Wendell Holmes says taxes are the price w
