Limewire and bittorrent are two differnet things. If you want bittorrent I am sure you know where to go. As for alternatives to Limewire, which uses a virtual irc network, there are several clients. If you notice Limewire uses three networks, probably Gnutell, Fast-track, and Ants or combinations thereof, making a hybrid for own network. Bearshare does this same thing. So does Ares. There are also other ones that you can configure more indepently, such as emuie, edonkey, Kceasy. And of course, for the “old school” there is Kazaa, still said to be the best. Certainly the most pirated of all. There are basically two types of these. The comercialized ones, LImewire, Bearshare, and the more open source ones, Kceasy, emule, edonky, and Ares, in that order. And of the course the “I don’t care let’s break all the rules one,” Kazaa. This is the oldest protocol, irc, and as such it is the most open and the most compromised. This is where people go to test viruses, or to simply dispose of old on

I had issues with Limewire and started using Frostwire. They are super similar (just different colors, actually), but I thought Frostwire was faster. I’ve been able to find everything I was looking for, too!

You could just type “P2P” (without the inverted commas) into your search bar and press Enter. Yahoo! Search comes up with 235,000,000 hits. (235 million) That should keep you entertained for a while.
