Organizations and foundations exist that loan or donate computers. For the most part, these donations/loans are to nonprofit organizations rather than to individuals. The National Cristina Foundation donates used computers and computer components to nonprofit organizations that work with individuals with disabilities. The organization must fill out an application to be accepted. Upon acceptance, the organization receives a quarterly list of computer components that have been donated. The organization can request components but must pay shipping and handling.
