Are there any orca trainers or dolphin trainers marine bioligest?
I am a recent graduate from a degree in marine biology and zoology, and trust me, marine biology has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in those parks, it’s entertainment, not science. Training has nothing to do with science/ marine bio/ zoology in any way shape or form and if you want to work in the field you should start of by getting used to the idea that it is a highly controversial topic as many people including myself feel it is not in the animals best interest and can be considered animal cruelty for many different reasons such as the difference in life expectancy in captive orcas (captive orcas in general die in their mid twenties whereas in the wild, females can live upto 80 years or longer), the size of the enclosure (far too small) and lack of stimulation resulting in stress and aggression towards other animals or trainers.
