Are there any options for a smaller garbage bin or extra recycling bins?
Council now has a number of options for garbage and recycling services. The standard garbage service includes a 240 Litre garbage bin and a 240 Litre recycling bin. The domestic waste charge is $253 per annum. A smaller 140 litre garbage bin and a 240 Litre recycling bin costs $225 per annum – a saving of $28 per year. An additional recycling bin is available at an extra cost of $28 per year. However, a small garbage bin with 2 recycling bins costs $253, the same as the 240L garbage and recycling service. If the property is tenanted, there will need to be mutual agreement between the parties for a change of service. When the request for the service is made, the 140 litre small bin will be exchanged with the existing 240 litre bin service. The financial saving will be made pro-rata on the annual domestic waste charge.
