Are there any myths to the constellation gemini?
The myth of Gemini is the story of the Trojan twins Castor and Pollux (or Polydeukes). They are the older brothers of Helen of Troy and in some legends they were also the sons of Zeus and along with Helen hatched out of swan eggs (since the legend was that Zeus came to Queen Leda of Sparta in the form of a swan which is why Helen is so pretty) So one day, news came that some people had kidnapped the twins’ betrothed princesses, who were sisters. They fought with the kidnappers and Castor was killed. Pollux was offered immortality by his father Zeus but he refused for he did not want to live without his twin brother Castor. So instead, Zeus placed them both together among the stars as the constellation Gemini. This is just one rendition of the myth. In some versions, only Pollux was Zeus’s son and he chose to share his immortality with his twin. They are known as the protectors of sailors.
