According to The International Society for Transcranial Stimulation, in an article Managing the Risks of Repetitive Transcranial Stimulation published in CNS Spectrums, The long-term risks of rTMS are not known. However, the limited data available at this time (2002) from repeated application of high intensity, time-varying magnetic fields to humans, as in magnetic resonance imaging, do not suggest that they are significant.
