Are there any long term effects of using psilocybin mushrooms?
No there is no physical dangers associated with psychoactive components of mushrooms or LSD. Like that you would find with other drugs or alcohol. Chemically they are less toxic than aspirin. However, the danger comes from the situations that you use them. To put it simply, psychoactive drugs and hallucinogens encourage your brain to keep firing neurons when normally it would stop. That is why when you experience something and start to go on a trip it can build from nothing to a mind blowing hit in few seconds. It’s the electrical impulse spreading through your brain. Similar to epilepsy. The main problem (and the reason why I stopped) is that the brain learns new things through repetition. Every time a neuron fires it strengthens the connection and over time the drugs change your neuro makeup… changing the way you think, see the world and act… for ever. Of course this depends on you and how much you take. This isn’t always a bad thing, I love what I have become and who I am, but I
No. There is no evidence of any bad side effect from psilocin (the active ingredient in Psilocybin Mushrooms) other than getting in trouble with Big Brother if the police catch you. Also, contrary to a lot of street wisdom, they are not toxic or poison in any amount. The trouble is with people who don’t know one mushroom from another.
