Are there any list Submission Guidelines or list Netiquette?
No more than most of the lists out there. It is our hope that these guidelines will aid in maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere. It is likely that messages not following these guidelines will be returned to you for editing. • Indicate the nature of your message in the “subject” line of the header as precisely as possible. • Intros and lengthy signature files are discouraged. At the end of your message include your name, institutional affiliation (if any), and “snail mail” address. The data provided in the header is often cryptic, and this complete information helps to personalize the discussion and keep it a little more friendly. However, please avoid elaborate signature files with large graphics or lengthy quotations. • Always be civil, don’t use profanity. Don’t be lewd, abrasive, argumentative, or rude. • Don’t post messages in HTML, binaries, or word-processing attachments. Encoded binaries (also known as UUENCODED files) and pictures are not permitted in most groups.
