Are there any leachate readings?
The leachate bores around the landfill are being monitored regularly. The readings taken from these bores are collated and will be reported to Council. More leachate is being pumped from within the site to ponds for treatment and disposal. Further upgrades to leachate extraction and treatment is planned to occur in the new year. ↑ Top of Page Landfill works How long will works on the landfill continue for? How long will these problems go on for? It is difficult to put a specific timeframe on when the gas migration will be totally resolved. However, Council’s immediate actions should see significant reductions in off-site gas migration over the short-term. In the longer term, approximately 12-24 months, further mitigation works should bring it even under greater control. Can we have a fence along the landfill?
