International applicants interested in distance education must meet the TOEFL requirement and demonstrate proof of adequate financial resources. You should submit the results of a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), taken within the last two years, showing a total score of at least 500 (173 on the computer-based TOEFL), with at least 50 in each section (Listening: 16; Structure/Writing: 18; Reading: 17 on the computer-based TOEFL). If your TOEFL score falls between 500 and 550, you will be limited to 15 semester units, including a special English course, during your first semester at Chico.
