Are there any know problems with VW Sharan spare wheel lifter mechanism?
I recently hired a VW Sharan and had to use the spare wheel. Initially the spare failed to wind down and then suddenly dropped to the ground. I have since been charged £138 by the hire company for “Damage to the lifter mechanism” which I believe is wrong as I was simply following Manufactrer instructions to remove the spare wheel.
