Are there any kind of reading glasses suggested for people with myopia?
A person with low myopia must NEVER use glasses for near work. If you take off your glasses you’ll do a good thing for your eyes. If you really have to do a lot of reading work at very short distance, such as reading a book (usually 30 or 40 centimeters ), it might be helpful to use positive glasses,i.e. reading glasses,with a low power,+1 or less. That would further reduce the eye-strain caused by short distance. The reason is that positive glasses (when used for very short distance) help the eyes to avoid over-accommodation which is the focusing mechanism used by the eyes to see close things. It’s well known that overaccommodation is the main cause of myopia, so if you reduce or eliminate overaccommodation, you will also reduce the chances of developing more myopia.
