Are there any instances in which Hi-Tach should not be used?
There are some. Automatic transmissions and torque convertors should be limited to an absolute maximum concentration of 10%. Automatic transmission valve bodies are made to operate on extremely thin fluids. Introducing heavier fluids will modify shift points and may inhibit valve opening and closing. Positraction rear ends and motorcycle oil bath clutches should not use Hi-Tach. These devices rely on clutch mechanisms which require a minimum coefficient of friction to perform. Hi-Tach will reduce friction to the point that they may not be able to function properly.
