There are no immdiate plans to extend water service in Ocean Acres. However, the Township’s long term capital program includes projects designed to supply public water service to the balance of Ocean Acres that does not currently have public water. The Township’s water and sewer utility engineer is currently undertaking the design of additioanl water supply wells and a water treatment plant to serve Ocean Acres. This is a very complex process that involves a large number of state agency reviews and state permits. It is estimated that these facilities would not be constructed for 5 years(by 2005). It is important to note, however, that the engineering desogn process is limited at the present time to the water supply wells and treatment plant. There is no timetable established as of yet for the design and constuction of transmission lines that would be necessary to serve these areas.
