Are there any health issues to be concerned about in regard to raising Angora rabbits?
A. All rabbits can have health issues from time to time. Selective breeding of animals who are not susceptible to health problems and meticulous sanitation in your rabbitry will eliminate most of those issues, for the most part, from your entire herd. Cleanliness of the living quarters and good nutrition is a must. In my opinion they have no more health issues than any other breed. You have to make sure they are housed in a draft free area in the winter and a shaded, well ventilated area free from extreme heat, in the summer. For more information on health issues I suggest getting a copy of the ARBA’s guide to raising rabbits. In it they discuss common health issues found in all rabbit breeds. Q. Do Angora rabbits like the companionship of another Angora rabbit? I have heard that rabbits are very territorial. A. In my opinion it is not necessary to have a companion for your rabbit. I have had one rabbit and I have had 20. Rabbits they are territorial and you can’t put two males togethe
