Are there any hardware prerequisites needed for the FLEX-VU5K module?

In order to use the FLEX-VU5K module, the FLEX-5000 must have the HRFIO-34 board installed that is shipping with all new FLEX-5000 SDRs. If you have an early version of the FLEX-5000, you will need to upgrade to the RF switching matrix board. See the HRFIO board FAQ below.
