The chances are you probably aren’t doing a lot wrong. It’s probably that there are 3000 applicants for each position. This is normally the case for companies like PWC! Competency usually requires you to draw on experiences from your working life, but if this is you’re first proper job it can be a real bummer! Chicken and egg scenario. I’ve been there. I got rejected from several top financial services firms like PWC when I graduated (2001). Like you I could get through the first stage interview but failed at the final hurdle. After nearly 10 months of joblessness I lower my expectations and took a job I wasn’t that interested in, but at least you are earning money and it takes some of the pressure off interviews. It also gives you the opportunity to gain skills and examples in the workplace that you can put on future applications.
