Are there any good books that show why Emperor Hirohito wanted to bomb Pearl Harbour?
I’m not sure Hirohito DID want to attack Pearl Harbor–it was the cadre of military leaders (who actually ran the country) who wanted to attack Pearl Harbor. During the 1930s Japan became a fascist state, ruled by the military (in conjunction with various economic interests). Hirohito was a weak ruler who went along with what his advisors said.
