Are there any good alternatives to “1000 places to see before you die” for budget travelers?”
I would certainly consider myself a budget traveler. I like to get a good deal, and I try to keep my options open so that I can travel as much as possible. My fiancee bought me the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die because he knows I like to travel a lot. Out of curiosity, do you have it? It is a great book. But let’s be honest, that book really does have some pretty outrageous things in it. Quite frankly, there’s a lot of stuff in the book that I don’t even have an interest in seeing. But out of the 1,000 things listed, there are plenty of things that even a budget traveler can see. Really, all you need to do is start reading some travel books, magazines, websites, etc. and find out what looks interesting to you. Then start making your own list. They can be things that are relatively close to you, such as Niagara Falls (page 763-764) or they can be halfway around the world such as The Great Barrier Reef in Australia (page 522-523).
