Almost all FTP clients work fine with Serv-U. Some have bugs, but those are not particular to Serv-U alone. Below is a list of known problems of FTP clients and solutions (if there are any). • The Hummingbird/Exceed FTP client version 5.0.1 lets you back up a directory, but after that won’t let you back into the subdirectory. This has been solved in version 5.1.3. • The command line FTP client which ships with Windows 95 and NT has severe problems with multi-line directory change messages, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Unless MS fixes this bug you’ll have to cut back on those messages at the server side.
