No such thing. Dogs are never free. There are supplies to buy (about $300 worth on the first run), vet are to give ($200 first time), grooming ($40 or more every couple of months), training ($100 or so depending on where you go), etc to think about. I personally keep a few hundred on hand for emergency vet care as well. Free dogs are usually free for a reason. Ill health or bad temperament are two of the main reasons – that means more vet fees and training fees. Expect to pay a lot of other fees for your dog. If you can’t afford to buy a healthy puppy or adopt from a shelter then i doubt you can afford the necessary supplies and vet care.
