I scored a total cholesterol level of 220 and upon being told that – I did what I knew to do – and in 4 months brought it to 153. My “good” cholesterol went from 40 to 45… and I continue to work on raising it. Here’s the deal: My diet already has removed fried foods from external sources. My diet has already cut beef to once every 6 months, and pork to once every 3 months. Because of Diabetes – I already had removed refined sugars and changed all things white to all things brown: White flour for stone growned wheat (not Graham flour) – Brown rice for white – 7, 9, or 12 Grain wheat bread for white – Dreamfields or Barilla Whole Grain Pasta instead of white pasta – Sweet potatoes or red skinned potatoes for white Irish potatoes – etc. I replaced corn oil for frying and cooking with a blend of mono-unsaturated and poly-unsaturated fats like Canola, Olive and Flax seed oils to raise Omega 3, 6, and 9’s.
