Beginning with Hindi, Solaris Unicode locales now provide Indian regional language support for the first time. The Devanagari script, upon which Hindi is based, is used by various languages in the Indian subcontinent and covers a large geographical region in South Asia. The Solaris software platform infrastructure now allows for the input, display and print of Hindi data with these locales.
