Are there any famous Singularitarians?
A common technique of political parties is to gain support by showing off their more famous supporters, which plays on a vulgar publics’ interest in celebrity. Singularitarians, though, place more emphasis on ideas than people, thus our elite are ideas like the Singularity, Friendly AI, and the Sysop, not people like Eliezer Yudkowsky, Ben Goertzel, or even yours truly. But, to answer the question, yes, there are some pretty well known folks who are Singularitarians, but I’m not going to tell you who.
