Are there any expectations of parents/guardians during their childrens participation?
Yes. Parents or guardians will attend a mandatory parent/ guardian Orientation. In addition, they will be asked to attend 2 training sessions during Phase 1 with their children. Parents/guardians will also be asked to chaperone field trips throughout the winter and spring on a voluntary basis. Generally, families are expected to support the student during the important first Phase of the program and help their children to be responsible by consistently attending all Training Sessions. All participants will need a valid United States passport and a travel visa if it is required for the country to which they are traveling. During Phase 1, all aspects of travel logistics will be addressed, such as visas, vaccinations and packing lists.
