Are there any exemptions to the RoHS Directive for Telecom?

0

Telecom equipment is within the scope of the RoHS Directive and so the six restricted substances will not be allowed unless there is an exemption. There is an exemption for lead in solders in telecommunications network infrastructure equipment (but not lead in other materials or the other 5 substances). These products are high reliability professional network equipment and do not include personal computers, telephones, products intended for use by consumers, etc.
