Yes, and they are as follows: 1) New license holders by way of examination are exempt for their first renewal period. 2) A license holder serving on active duty and deployed outside the U.S., it’s possessions and territories, in or for the military service of the U.S. for a period of 120 consecutive days in a year shall be exempt for that year. 3) A license holder employed outside the U.S., it’s possessions and territories, actively engaged in the practice of geoscience for a period of 300 consecutive days in a year shall be exempt from obtaining the required hours except for five (5) hours of self-directed course work. 4) License holders experiencing long term physical disability or illness, upon Board approval.
