Are there any error detection mechanisms?
Two CRCs are to be found: • one in the PES syntax, but its purpose is to check the error robustness of a network link. It is a CRC calculated over the previous transmitted PES packet. • The second in the PSI information. It is a way to ensure that a section has not been corrupted. That is why sections have to be short, in order for the CRC to be efficient.
