Are there any environmental benefits to using Brock?

Yes! In a study commissioned by Brock and conducted by the Rocky Mountain Institute in conjunction with the Athena Institute, there were many advantages to using Brock over a stone base. The highlights are: • A 50-60% reduction in the amount of soil excavated; • A 60-65% reduction in the amount of aggregate used; • A 100% reduction of in-field drainage pipe used (depending on location) • A 45-55% savings of on-site construction and materials transportation energy use (depending on location) When using Brock compared to stone, there is less off-haul which reduces fuel consumption and smog, less impact and damage to the construction site, and beneficial results in smog formulation potential, human particulate potential (airborne particulates) and eutrophication potential (over-fertilization of surface waters). In addition, water that drains through Brock passes the most stringent water quality tests in the US and Europe. Please contact Brock for further information on this study and how
