Ans If you really need straight portions, then theoretically you can draw a path composed of Splines and Lines joined end-to-end and enable “Use Compound Profile” when extruding. In reality however, this method is vulnerable to the same problem your original Polyline seems to exhibit: a lack of smoothness which can make Sweeping and Blending impossible. I have used Line for straight lines, Splines by Control Point, Arcs are formed by using the Arc Start/Included/End or Arc Start/End/Included. I think Spline profiles behave nicely. Bezier curves I almost never use for any purpose.
