Are there any diseases caused by shock collars?
Greekman is correct, I have used and been around many others that use electric collars since I suppose the mid 60s or there about. There is no illness caused by having anything strapped around a dogs neck, electric or otherwise. But, you can not have the contacts of an electric collar rubbing around on the dogs neck forever without the dog getting some pretty bad sores on it’s neck. The collar should be put on, train, and take the collar back off. I would imagine that on most training days each of my dogs will have the collar on their neck for a half hour to forty five minutes.
